Check them out. Rabbi Daniel Landes, of Pardes, will be speaking tonight at 7:15 PM, and the Open Beit Midrash continues tomorrow night at 7:15 PM. If you're in the area, I hope to see you there.
About Me
- Name: Shira Salamone
Once upon a time, I belonged to a left-wing egalitarian Conservative synagogue, where I was one of a number of women who wore a tallit—and one of the few members who used an Orthodox prayer book (adding the Mothers, of course). Having moved since then, I now belong to a right-wing traditional Conservative synagogue, where I’m almost always the only woman wearing a tallit—and one of the few members who adds the Mothers. I seem destined to be forever . . . on the fringe.

If you're attending tonight's lecture and would like to say hi, I'll be wearing a light pink T shirt with a decorative seam down the front, and I'll have a paisley bandanna on my head. (I haven't yet decided which color bandanna goes best--it'll be either my bright pink, light blue, or white one.)
The verdict is in :) --I'm now wearing my bright pink bandanna.
If you come to the Open Beit Midrash tonight, you can spot me by looking for a not-so-young woman in a pink T-shirt (without decorative seam) wearing a light blue paisley bandanna on her head. Hope to meet you there.
